Whale Watching

photo of Whale Watching area wildlife Whales and other marine mammals occasionally venture into Gastineau Channel but, for more reliable viewing, take a whale watching cruise. Half and full day cruises that specialize in whale watching depart from Auke Bay, with humpback whales seen consistently. Consider yourself especially lucky if you see killer whales. Other marine mammals might be seen, along with a variety of sea birds.
